As a Northamptonshire wedding videographer, I'm lucky enough to witness and capture love stories in some of the most picturesque venues the UK has to offer — and Crockwell Farm is undoubtedly one of my favourites. Maya and Jake's unforgettable wedding day at this beautiful Northamptonshire countryside venue was nothing short of extraordinary.

A Crockwell Farm Wedding | Northamptonshire

An Early Start at Crockwell Farm

I arrived at Crockwell Farm bright and early at 8am — the sun already blazing on what turned out to be the hottest day of the year. Maya, Jake and their wedding party were getting ready in the on-site cottages which were perfect for capturing those intimate pre-ceremony moments. One of my favourite parts of the morning was filming Jake and Maya opening gifts they had got for eacother — a touching part of their story that added so much emotion to their wedding film.

A Dual Ceremony – Celebrating Heritage and Love

This wedding was extra special as it included two wedding ceremonies. The first was a vibrant Hindu ceremony held at 11am, filled with colour and tradition. Filming under the open sky with sunlight streaming down for over an hour wasn't easy on me or my cameras.

Later in the afternoon, everyone gathered again in the Woodland Glade at Crockwell Farm for a peaceful civil ceremony. The shade of the trees offered welcome relief from the heat. The contrast between the two ceremonies added depth and diversity to the final wedding film, showcasing the couple's cultural fusion and deep connection.

Sunshine & Speeches

After the ceremony, we moved straight into a confetti walk followed by a drinks reception in the sun-drenched gardens. The atmosphere was buzzing.

During the reception, the speeches began. Maya’s dad gave a heartfelt tribute to his daughter and about her growing up that struck a deep chord with me, especially as a father myself. His words, along with the brilliant speeches from Jake and the best men, made for some incredibly emotional and personal moments on film. These raw, authentic moments are what really elevate a wedding film!  — storytelling at its most genuine.

Dhol Drummers, Espresso Martinis & Surprise Fireworks!

The evening was nothing short of electric. Maya and Jake made a grand entrance to the beat of dhol drummers, setting the tone for a high-energy night. The cake cutting and first dance followed.

But the real magic happened later. As the guests gathered outside with sparklers, I quickly moved into place, cameras ready. What followed was a surprise fireworks display — only Maya knew about it, and the look of amazement on everyone’s faces was priceless. Coordinating the transition from sparklers to fireworks was a challenge (especially after 14+ hours on my feet!), but the footage was well worth the effort.

Maya offered me an espresso martini before I packed up. But after a long day of filming, it was time to head back to my hotel — heart full and SD cards even fuller.

Why Crockwell Farm is Perfect for Wedding Videography

As a wedding videographer, I can’t recommend Crockwell Farm highly enough. With its rolling countryside views, versatile ceremony spaces (including the dreamy Woodland Glade), and the warm, welcoming atmosphere, it offers the perfect backdrop for a wedding film.
